City Essay - Wenzhou

I would like to make a brief introduction about a city called Wenzhou. It is my hometown. Wenzhou is a medium-size city in Zhejiang province in China. I will tell you some things about this city that everyone should know.

Firstly, Wenzhou is a tourist city. That is to say, there is a vast number of tourist attractions in Wenzhou, especially Bailu Park and Paradise Walk. Bailu Park, which was built in 2011, is the most famous park in Wenzhou. There is a large dragon relief in the center of Bailu Park. The style of the whole park is light and simple. Furthermore, the facilities employing the characteristics of the architecture in the area of Wenzhou are built in the park, which illustrates the unique characteristics of the Jiangnan village.  In spring, you can go to the park with your family, looking at the beautiful scene of a recovery in all things and feeling the vitality of spring. In summer, Bailu Park is a great place to enjoy the cool air. There are many tall trees spreading their arms to create cool places. In autumn, flying a kite in Bailu Park is the best choice for you to have fun. In winter, you can invite your friends in the park to a snow battle, using your laughter and enthusiasm to drive away the cold of winter. In a word, Bailu Park is best suitable for people to have fun. As for Paradise Walk, it is a famous shopping mall in Wenzhou. It is a four-floor shopping mall, and it is convenient for people to go shopping and relax. On the ground floor, you can enjoy window-shopping and spend time looking at various kinds of clothes without intending to buy anything. On the first floor, different kinds of electronic equipment are waiting for you. On the second floor, there is a “Food Corner” where you can have a great meal. Also, you can enjoy the time in the movie theater on the third floor.

Next, there is a famous kind of food in Wenzhou called “Wenzhou snack”. Wenzhou snack is a general name that describes various kinds of food in Wenzhou area. There is a famous saying in Wenzhou: “Where to find the Wenzhou snack? Tianyijiao!” Tianyijiao is the most famous restaurant in Wenzhou, where almost all kinds of Wenzhou snacks can be found.  When you come to Tianyijiao, you can find Fish Pill, which is a kind of Wenzhou snack. After you put Fish Pill into your mouth, there is a full light fishy smell of seafood flavor overflowing between your lips and teeth. Then, making an effort as soon as possible to chew, you can discover that Fish Pill is quite full of elasticity. You can also find Lamp Bowl Cake in Tianyijiao, which is another kind of Wenzhou snack. Because the dessert is made to the form of the lamp bowl, the dessert is called Lamp Bowl Cake.

Finally, there were many famous historical people in Wenzhou, such as Lingyun Xie and Ji Liu. Lingyun Xie was one of the famous Chinese poets of the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Ji Liu was a foremost military strategist and statesman in the Chinese history. It also was well-known that Ji Liu was known for his prophecies, as he has been described as the “Chinese Nostradamus”.

Based on the reasons mentioned above, Wenzhou is a well-known city that is suitable for people to travel.
